Daughter. Sister. Friend. Believer. Lover.

Hi, I’m Kayla. I am a Financial Coach and Registered Nurse from North Carolina. I have been sharing my financial tips since the summer of 2019 when I first started my own financial journey. Back then, I was on my debt freedom journey and it was that time in my life that laid the foundation for the years to come. I feel very blessed to have been able to master the basics back then, because what came after completely changed my life.

I love helping others, that’s why I became a nurse. I have traveled to many states as a travel nurse helping people during their worst days, and when I am not in my scrubs I enjoy helping people gain control of their finances.

I believe that transparency allows for two strangers to connect. I believe choosing to share authentic pieces of yourself with others is a beautiful thing. If through my transparency with my own finances I can encourage someone else to take control of theirs then it is worth it. No, money does not equal happiness .. but freedom, experiences, and time all definitely add to mine. Being in charge of your finances allows for more of each of these and I can help you throughout each stage of your journey.

“I wasn’t handed any of this, definitely grew up low middle class, but I have this burning desire to change things financially for myself and my family. I’m not saying we never got new clothes or enjoyed a few vacations, but I remember never ordering appetizers or getting on a plane with family members. I remember my mom telling me she was really happy about all of my other acceptance letters to colleges but that I was going to WSSU because they offered me a full ride. I remember my mom sitting at the dining room table many times on the phone with a debt resolution company and I will never forget that “May 2012” was the year that things would be better for us financially before that same debt resolution company filed bankruptcy and that day didn’t come.”
